Family Solicitor (Care Proceedings)

Overview

In this role you will handle public law children and care proceedings, advising and representing clients within a supportive firm that offers remote or hybrid work. You will work closely with local authorities, Cafcass, and other professionals to deliver accurate legal guidance while maintaining high client care standards. Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of public law children and care proceedings matters
• Represent parents, children, and guardians in court
• Liaise with local authorities, Cafcass, and other professionals
• Provide empathetic, practical, and accurate legal advice
• Ensure compliance with Legal Aid and SRA regulations
• Maintain excellent client care and professional standards

Key requirements

• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with experience in care proceedings and public law children work
• Confident advocate with excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Organised, self-motivated, and able to manage a busy caseload independently
• Children Panel membership is desirable but not essential
