Associate Cost Manager

Overview

In this role you will apply your cost management expertise to major infrastructure projects, helping clients deliver on time and within budget. You will work closely with client and contractor teams to monitor costs, forecast variances, and manage commercial governance. With a consultative approach, you’ll drive value through effective change control, risk management, and accurate final accounts. This is an opportunity to lead project commercial activities within a global, multi-disciplinary firm and shape outcomes for high-impact programmes.

Responsibilities

• Establish professional relationships with clients and project stakeholders
• Administer contracts aligned with project objectives and policies
• Provide accurate cost monitoring, forecasting and reporting to completion
• Monitor cost variance and cash flow and ensure timely applications
• Collaborate with client and contractor teams to manage deliverables, KPIs, and value engineering
• Lead contract change management to stay within governance and best practices
• Improve forecast and budget accuracy
• Provide commercial knowledge and support to stakeholders
• Negotiate and agree final accounts
• Lead people and commissions as needed

Key requirements

• Proven Cost / Commercial Management experience
• Preferably MRICS
• NEC3 contracts experience (Option C – Target Cost)
• Post contract administration
• Experience on Major Programmes and Projects
• Experience in Infrastructure projects (Rail, air, marine/ports, utilities highways)
• Experience in leading and managing teams
