Job Description:

We are a small creative team, and we are looking for a passionate creative who wants to help and inspire young children!

We run courses during the holidays that provide children with opportunities to explore their fashion skills and imagination using sewing machines. These courses pay £100/day. Typically our courses run for 5 days during half-terms and Christmas and Easter holidays. You have the freedom to design your own course and teach it yourself with one fashion assistant. If you don’t wish to design your own course, we are happy to provide prior course plans that have been successful with our students! We need someone young and bursting with creativity and energy who loves teaching children and is looking to inspire the next generation of fashionista’s!

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay: We are a charity organisation so we are based on a volunteering pay rate but this is a very competitive rate and above London Living Wage.
  • Fully equipped: All teaching materials and spaces are provided!
  • Supportive community: Connect with a vibrant network of fellow creative people based in London to share tips and ideas and connect and network with like-minded creatives.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Childcare confidence: A natural ability and confidence working with children (no formal teaching qualification required).
  • Reliable commitment: Able to commit to teaching at least a one-week course during half term or school holidays.
  • Compliance: Must hold an Enhanced DBS certificate (or be willing to let us apply for one on your behalf) and complete safeguarding documentation.
  • Fashion Design Knowledge: Must know how to use a sewing machine, and be confident with pattern cutting and design.
  • Creative Freedom: You will be allowed creative freedom to run your own workshops with us and explore different fashion styles and exciting fashion and textile activities that inspire and build knowledge of the fashion industry for our young people. This is a chance to understand and explore your expertise and passion as a fashion designer!

We are a small charity organisation that is continuing to grow and are looking for people to get involved and bring their passions and skills to life! Please see our website for more information about us and the work we do!

We are an Equal Opportunities Employer and welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds, regardless of their race, disability, age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion and belief, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity and caring responsibility. We are committed to offering a working environment where everyone is valued and feels appreciated.
