Job Overview

As a Regional Procurement Buyer, you will lead and manage the procurement of the Facilities Management category for the UK and Europe regions. You will maintain and develop the supplier base, drive strategic relationships, and execute material group strategies. Reporting to the Procurement Head for UK and Europe, you will play a critical role in ensuring supply continuity, cost optimisation, and sustainable sourcing.

Key Deliverables

  • Develop and communicate the category strategy across procurement.
  • Build strong relationships with key partners to align procurement objectives with business needs.
  • Full responsibility to develop and implement regional category strategies for Facilities Management, focusing on cost out, cash flow, supply continuity, sustainability, and innovation.
  • Build and nurture Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) across regional strategic suppliers.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with regional teams – manufacturing sites, supply chain, R&D, and quality teams – to deliver regional projects for productivity and business continuity.
  • Create and implement key strategic projects in coordination with R&D, supply chain, and quality teams.
  • Share best practices and benchmarks across regions and with the global team.
  • Implement all regional procurement‑driven processes and tools within the team and category.
  • Build cost breakdowns and cost models where relevant.
  • Gather specifications, scope of works, service levels, and KPIs from stakeholders.
  • Lead the end‑to‑end sourcing process for new contracts within the category.
  • Finalise contracts with suppliers and ensure compliance with pladis T&Cs.
  • Negotiate contract terms, liaising with legal and suppliers to provide maximum value to the business.
  • Complete D&B checks to assess supplier financial status.
  • Present sourcing strategies and recommendations to relevant forums.
  • Report on five key deliverable areas, including Jaggaer updates for all projects in the category.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for business stakeholders and manage any supplier performance issues.

Qualifications

  • Essential: Graduate qualification or proven experience in indirect procurement.
  • Negotiation and commercial analytical skills.
  • Supplier/Customer relationship management experience or excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form strong working relationships.
  • Project management and leadership skills, including how to make a strong recommendation.
  • Ability to think strategically and set a three‑year category plan.
  • Ability to lead many workstreams and work in a team while managing key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience of developing, leading, and delivering change implementation within an organisation.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills within the team and across the business.
  • Understanding of sustainability opportunities in the Facilities Management category.
  • MCIPS or equivalent certification is desirable.

Interview Process

  1. Initial telephone call with Talent Acquisition.
  2. First stage interview – 45‑minute competency‑based interview focusing on company values and experiences.
  3. Second stage interview – 90‑minute technical interview to understand skill set, case study or presentation.
  4. Psychometric and aptitude tests may be part of the process.
