Senior Commercial Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead the commercial function on a high-value central London development within a major contractor, reporting to the Commercial Director and guiding a team of surveyors. You’ll manage contract procedures, procurement strategy, and budget oversight across multi-project delivery in the commercial/mixed-use sector. The position combines leadership with hands-on contract governance to maintain commercial integrity and value. This is a chance to shape major developments and advance toward Commercial Director through strong performance.

Responsibilities

• Act as Commercial lead on a high profile, high value project (250 million plus) and manage contract procedures
• Oversee the administration of the head contract while delegating responsibilities
• Lead the commercial team and collaborate with the Commercial Director on the project execution plan
• Provide comprehensive support resolving contractual or commercial issues
• Regularly report on commercial data and metrics
• Collaborate with the design team on budgets and affordability
• Develop and implement procurement strategy for contracted works

Key requirements

• Live within commutable distance to Central London
• Experience leading multiple major projects valued 150m+ in commercial/mixed-use
• JCT contract experience
• Experience dealing with large claims
• Degree in a construction related subject
• Experience managing a team
