Overview

As Vice President, Controller for Core Payments, you lead the controllership posture for a strategically important, blockchain-enabled payments business. You partner with global finance, GBSC, Tax, Legal, and Treasury to drive accurate financial reporting, audit readiness, and governance. You will shape a best-in-class controllership function for an acquired unit, overseeing regulatory, statutory, and treasury considerations. You’ll manage external audits, US GAAP-to-local GAAP bridging, and ongoing compliance in a complex global environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide authoritative accounting judgment on complex transactions, digital assets, revenue recognition, and regulatory matters
  • Drive consistent application of policies and controls across global/regional teams
  • Manage external audits and ensure audit documentation and issue resolution
  • Oversee SOX, statutory reporting, regulatory compliance, and risk escalation
  • Define and execute the integration compliance roadmap for the acquired business
  • Establish robust compliance reporting during integration period
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation and transition-readiness for policy/process changes
  • Maintain statutory compliance registers for digital payments entities
  • Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, Treasury, Tax, and Controllership on crypto, settlement, and regulatory requirements
  • Lead management reporting and executive-level communications on financial status and risks

Key requirements

  • Senior controllership and technical accounting leadership in a complex global public company
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS; experience with crypto assets and stablecoins preferred
  • Ability to advise senior finance and audit stakeholders on complex accounting matters
  • Experience with digital assets, fintech, payments, treasury, settlement, or regulatory compliance preferred
  • Proven ability to strengthen governance and drive remediation in a matrix organization
  • Executive presence and strong communication skills
  • Strategic, process-minded change agent with cross-functional leadership experience
