Overview

In this role you support geo-environmental projects within Stantec’s infrastructure and environment team in Cardiff. You will combine field investigations with office work, initially focusing on site-based activities, supervising drilling, sampling and gas monitoring, and translating findings into technical reports. You’ll collaborate with contractors and clients to deliver compliant, high-quality geo-environmental solutions. Responsibilities

  • supervise field investigations for contaminated and geotechnical sites
  • oversee drilling, well construction, testing, groundwater sampling, water level and ground gas monitoring
  • prepare interpretive technical reports and desk studies
  • manage geo-environmental assignments and coordinate with subcontractors and clients
  • balance site-based fieldwork with office activities, with initial emphasis on field activities
  • ensure adherence to Health and Safety during ground investigations

Key requirements

  • post-graduate experience in a geo-environmental industry
  • experience working for a contractor and/or geotechnical/geo-environmental experience is desirable
  • knowledge of BS EN 5930, EA LC:RM and NHBC Standards
  • supervision, reporting and management of geo-environmental tasks
  • monitoring of gas and groundwater levels and groundwater sampling
  • liaison with subcontractors and clients
  • CSCS card
  • SSSTS or IOSH site supervisor certificate
  • First Aid training
  • Cat and Genny trained
  • Full UK Driving Licence
