Overview

As part of the northern geo-environment team, you will deliver engineering geology and geo-environmental services on technically complex projects across the north of England. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to design, supervise, and report on site investigations, supported by a strong focus on ground conditions, contamination, and remediation. The role offers varied field and office work with a clear path to expand technical expertise and client impact. You will help drive sustainable solutions for utilities, development, and public sector clients.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engineering geology and geo-environmental services across challenging projects and sites
  • Assist with design, procurement, supervision, management and reporting of geotechnical and geo-environmental assessments and site investigations
  • Produce desk study assessments and collect site data for factual and interpretative reports
  • Undertake ground gas and groundwater monitoring activities
  • Develop desk-based site geology/hydrogeology histories and conceptual models
  • Design geotechnical and contamination investigations and interpret data into reports
  • Create remediation strategies and earthworks specifications and contribute to construction phase activities
  • Support tendering, project management, and liaison with multidisciplinary teams and clients

Key requirements

  • Degree or Masters in geology or engineering geology
  • Experience in ground investigation, geotechnical and geo-environmental assessment and reporting
  • Mining risk, earthworks and remediation experience is beneficial
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • IT literacy and good understanding of health, safety and CDM regulations
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site work
