HRA Gas Safety Manager

Overview

In this role, you will lead gas safety compliance for the HRA housing portfolio, ensuring statutory obligations are met and that robust systems and controls deliver a safe, well-managed service. You will act as the Council’s lead gas safety specialist, providing oversight and technical expertise across all gas-related activity and collaborating with delivery partners. You’ll maintain client-side accountability, oversee external works and leasehold properties, and support asset management and decarbonisation objectives. This is a pivotal role for maintaining high safety and compliance standards across a large housing stock.

Responsibilities

• Lead gas safety compliance across the HRA portfolio (~8,000 homes)
• Provide oversight, assurance, and technical expertise on gas safety
• Coordinate with delivery partners to ensure safe and effective service delivery
• Maintain strong client-side control and accountability across all gas-related activity
• Oversee externally procured works, commercial systems, and leasehold properties to ensure standards
• Ensure consistent compliance and quality across the housing portfolio
• Support wider asset management, capital investment, and retrofit activity
• Align gas systems management with decarbonisation objectives
