Senior RF Engineer

Overview

Senior RF Engineer based near Cambridge, contributing to concept-to-prototype development of RF systems with national impact. You will join a compact, highly-skilled team tackling multi-disciplinary challenges, emphasizing innovation, rapid prototyping, and practical applications. The role blends RF PCB design, system-level analysis, and hands-on lab validation to deliver real-world solutions. You will work in modern labs, taking meaningful technical responsibility from day one.

Responsibilities

• concept and simulation through to prototype and lab validation of RF systems
• RF PCB design and system-level analysis
• hands-on lab testing and validation of electronics & RF systems
• collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to solve complex challenges
• drive innovation and rapid prototyping in a practical, results-focused environment

Key requirements

• Experience in RF/electronics development
• Strong background in RF PCB design and characterisation
• Proficiency with design/simulation tools such as ADS, CST, or Microwave Office
• A relevant degree in electronics, physics, or a related field
• Desirable: microwave and RF systems for radar or communications; antenna design and integration; digital signal processing; high-speed digital PCB layout; test scripting in MATLAB, Python or similar
• Security clearance eligibility: UK citizen or eligible for UK security clearance (sponsorship not available)
