Overview

As an Experienced C&I and Functional Safety Consultant, you will lead and deliver diverse, high-profile projects across nuclear, defence, COMAH, renewable energy, and energy storage sectors. You’ll act as technical lead and client-facing partner, coordinating multi-disciplinary interfaces to design safety-critical control and safety systems. The role combines project leadership, technical delivery, and mentorship within a growing C&I team. You’ll contribute to mission-critical solutions while advancing toward chartership and broader technical scope.

Responsibilities

  • Lead C&I projects from concept to commissioning, managing teams, timelines, and budgets
  • Design process control and safety systems for safety-critical environments
  • Drive innovation and transition new systems from concept to formal acceptance
  • Produce, verify, and approve electrical reports, SLDs, P&IDs, BCDs, schematics
  • Engage with clients to define requirements, scope, risks, and progress
  • Mentor junior electrical and C&I engineers

Key requirements

  • MEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Strong practical knowledge of process control systems and EC&I documentation (SLDs, P&IDs, BCDs, schematics)
  • Experience leading safety-critical solutions aligned with IEC 61508, IEC 61511, ISO 13849, DO-178, DO-254
  • Experience with ISO 9001 quality standards and strong written/verbal communication
  • Proven track record in technical project leadership and mentoring
