My client are looking for an experienced Client Finance Manager to join their growing Transactional Client Finance team in a hands-on role overseeing the accurate and timely delivery of core client finance activities.

The successful candidate will have strong technical finance knowledge, excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach, with responsibility for financial controls, transactional finance oversight and supporting the wider team.

This is a hands-on position, with involvement across day-to-day finance operations, new development mobilisations, system changes and key business deadlines, alongside approval responsibilities for bank movements and reconciliations.

What you’ll be doingTransactional Finance & Operational Oversight

  • Oversee the accurate and timely delivery of key client finance activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, service charge and ground rent billing, bank reconciliations and wider transactional finance administration.

  • Provide hands-on support with transactional finance tasks when required.

  • Ensure internal budget templates are prepared accurately and on time to support the annual budgeting process.

  • Manage, review and support the billing of corporate management fees, ensuring income is raised accurately and promptly.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, promote consistency and embed efficient, accurate and compliant ways of working.

Systems & Mobilisation

  • Support the mobilisation of new developments, including reviewing and transferring budgets received from previous managing agents.

  • Ensure financial information is accurately captured within internal budget templates and finance systems.

  • Lead and actively support the financial onboarding of new developments, ensuring systems are configured correctly and all required information is obtained.

  • Work closely with property management, onboarding and operational teams to ensure smooth transitions into management.

  • Manage and approve new system user set-up, ensuring access levels are appropriate and properly controlled.

  • Support system upgrades, developments and process changes affecting Client Finance.

  • Complete and support user acceptance testing for system changes and new functionality, identifying and documenting issues and ensuring solutions are fit for purpose.

Financial Controls & Governance

  • Review and sign off client bank reconciliations within agreed authority levels.

  • Ensure reconciling items are investigated, followed up and resolved appropriately.

  • Review and approve bank movements and transfers between client bank accounts within agreed authority levels.

  • Ensure approvals are supported by appropriate controls, audit trails and procedures.

  • Support and manage TPI/RICS audits, ensuring relevant documentation and information is provided.

  • Escalate significant issues or risks to the Head of Client Finance where appropriate.

Team Support & Service Delivery

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to the Client Finance team.

  • Help prioritise workloads, manage deadlines and maintain consistently high standards.

  • Support the documentation and continuous improvement of finance processes.

  • Depending on experience and business requirements, the role may include line management responsibility for agreed members of the team.

  • Act as an escalation point for complex finance queries and work collaboratively to resolve issues.

  • Build effective working relationships with internal teams, clients, suppliers, previous managing agents and other stakeholders.

  • Take on additional responsibilities and ad hoc duties as required.

About you

Someone who is comfortable operating in a high-volume transactional finance environment and who takes pride in getting the detail right.

Essential experience

  • Experience managing competing priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy across high-volume financial processes.

  • Experience working within financial controls, internal governance or compliance frameworks.

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple demands effectively.

  • Excellent attention to detail and the confidence to review financial information, identify issues and apply sound judgement.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain financial matters clearly to a range of audiences.

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook, alongside shared document management tools.

  • Strong technical literacy and the ability to contribute to system testing, implementation and process change.

  • A practical, solution-focused approach to identifying issues and improving processes.

Desirable experience

  • Experience within residential property management, client finance, leasehold finance or another regulated finance environment.

  • Experience working with client bank accounts, reconciliations, billing and payment processes.

  • Experience supporting budgeting within a property, finance or operational environment.

  • Experience using property management, finance or client accounting systems.

  • Working knowledge of leasehold property management finance and the financial requirements associated with development handovers and ongoing management.
