Overview

In this role you support the Senior Institutional Business Lawyer to deliver legal guidance for the Institutional business across EMEA. You will draft and negotiate Investment Management Agreements and related contracts, support institutional distribution, and coordinate with internal teams and external counsel. You’ll stay current on regulatory developments affecting the fund industry and assist on UK and offshore product ranges. This is a client-centric, collaboration-heavy role within a global financial services group.

Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, amend and negotiate Investment Management Agreements and related contracts for standard and LDI mandates
  • Provide legal support for institutional distribution activities across EMEA
  • Draft and advise on intra-group agreements with Tax and Finance teams
  • Coordinate and manage external counsel as needed
  • Address general and ad-hoc queries from the business areas
  • Research and advise on developments in law, regulation and practices related to the institutional fund industry
  • Assist with UK and offshore pooled product ranges (LDI Fund, UK Investment Trusts, unit-linked products) including drafting policies and endorsements

Key requirements

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent) with 3-6 years post-qualification experience
  • Proven experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating Investment Management Agreements
  • Experience in-house within asset management or financial services or at a reputable law firm
  • Understanding of UK and wider EU regulatory environment
  • Experience with diverse investment fund structures and strategies
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently under tight deadlines
  • Strong contract drafting, attention to detail and commercial mindset
  • Ability to build relationships with business and global teams
