Accounts Manager

Overview

In this Manager role within Outsourced Business Services in Cardiff, you will lead a portfolio of clients delivering comprehensive finance solutions, including management accounts and statutory statements. You’ll oversee a small team to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and budget adherence while monitoring WIP, debt, and billing. You’ll act as the primary client contact, nurture relationships, and drive cross-functional collaboration to support growth and innovation. Responsibilities

• Oversee a diverse client portfolio (30-40 clients) delivering management accounts and statutory financial statements
• Ensure work is accurate, timely, and within budget; monitor WIP, debt, billing, and budgets
• Lead and develop a small team; mentor junior staff and drive team development
• Act as primary client contact; lead meetings and build trusted relationships
• Contribute to business growth through lead identification, cross-selling, and proposals
• Coordinate with audit and corporate tax teams to provide efficient client support
• Support training/People responsibilities for Trainees or team members as needed

Key requirements

• AAT, ACA or ACCA qualified, or AAT qualified and qualified by experience
• Strong technical accounting skills; experience with statutory statements under FRS 102-1A and management accounts
• Hands-on experience with Xero and Dext; Caseware is preferred (training provided)
• Excellent organizational and people-management abilities
• Experience leading small teams and coaching/join development
• Good client-facing communication and relationship-building skills
