Overview
In this Regional SHW Manager role, you will lead safety, health and wellbeing within SSE’s Transmission segments across designated Scottish regions. You will partner with Project Managers to align SHW and CDM strategies, and drive site audits and safety improvement campaigns. You’ll help shape SHW arrangements in the Transmission SHW Management system and support incident reporting and learning. The role combines field oversight with coaching to raise the team’s capability and preserve a safe, high-performing workforce. This is a chance to influence safety culture at scale within a major energy infrastructure company.

Responsibilities
- Partner with Lead Project Managers to align SHW, CDM and Assurance strategies across regions
- Promote and conduct regular Site SHW Audits and Inspections; implement safety improvement campaigns
- Contribute to development/implementation of SHW & CDM arrangements in the Transmission SHW Management system
- Support incident reporting, analysis and concise communication of findings
- Develop the capability of the team through training, coaching and performance tracking
- Promote a healthy, safe workplace culture and positive safety outcomes
Key requirements
- Knowledge and experience of high-risk operational activities on transmission/distribution networks
- Good understanding of CDM and related design, construction, O&M and demolition practices
- Registered member of IOSH or equivalent with CPD (or willingness to pursue)
