Overview
As a Data Governance Analyst, you will drive high standards of data governance, quality, and trust for strategic decision-making. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders across the business to challenge and raise data management practices within the Data Governance team. Your work will include implementing and improving the governance framework, profiling data, and maintaining data catalogs and glossaries. This role offers the chance to shape data culture and enable informed decisions in a health-focused insurance environment. You will communicate influence and build strong relationships to embed governance across the organization.

Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Data Governance Framework to strengthen data quality, integrity and business value
- Analyze data processes with Data Owners and Data Stewards to resolve data quality issues at source
- Conduct data profiling and implement data quality controls to improve accuracy and reliability
- Produce data quality reporting and dashboards to highlight risks and support governance decisions
- Coordinate and support data governance forums, including packs, actions, and tracking outcomes
- Build relationships with stakeholders to promote good data management practices
- Champion data governance standards and assist colleagues in embedding governance requirements
- Maintain data catalogues, glossaries and data dictionaries to improve data asset understanding
- Support information asset governance through classification, retention and lifecycle management
- Contribute to developing a strong data culture and continuous improvement across the organisation
Key requirements
- Experience in data governance, data management or data quality environments
- Strong data analysis skills to identify trends, issues and root causes
- Knowledge of data management tools, ideally Collibra (glossary and classification management)
- Experience with insurance or financial services data is advantageous
- Ability to interrogate and profile data; SQL skills are highly desirable
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to engage with audiences at all levels
- Good understanding of data governance, security, privacy and information lifecycle principles
