Management Accountant – Maternity Cover
Barnsley | c.£45,000 | 15-Month Contract | November Start
We’re working with a well-established client in Barnsley who is looking to appoint an experienced Management Accountant on a 15-month maternity cover contract, starting in November.
This is a great opportunity for a confident management accountant who is comfortable taking ownership of the month-end process and producing accurate, meaningful management information for the business.
You do not need to be fully qualified for this role. We’re happy to consider candidates who are part-qualified (PQ), qualified by experience (QBE), or fully qualified, provided you have solid hands‑on experience producing management accounts.
Working as part of the finance team, you’ll be responsible for a broad range of management accounting duties, including:
Producing accurate monthly management accounts
Preparing and posting month-end journals and completing month-end processes
Balance sheet reconciliations and control account reviews
Variance analysis against budgets and forecasts
Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process
Providing financial analysis and management information to key stakeholders
Monitoring costs and investigating significant variances
Assisting with cash flow and financial reporting
Supporting year-end processes and the external audit
Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial records
Identifying opportunities to improve financial controls and processes
Providing general support to the wider finance team as required
