Overview

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer in the Credit Technology Engineering team, you will design, build, and deliver scalable fintech solutions powering Ares’ global credit platform. You’ll work across frontend, backend, APIs, and data layers to support deal origination, underwriting, portfolio monitoring, risk, and analytics. You’ll partner with cross-functional teams on architecture, platform modernization, and engineering best practices to drive performance, resiliency, and maintainability. This role offers hands-on coding, technical leadership, and the chance to influence a complex, enterprise-grade investment platform.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and support software solutions for credit investment workflows
  • Contribute across front-end, back-end, integration, and data layers
  • Build and maintain APIs, services, and user-facing applications for investment workflows
  • Participate in code reviews, design reviews, troubleshooting, and production support
  • Drive scalable, maintainable solutions aligned with engineering standards
  • Collaborate on architecture, system design, and technology choices
  • Contribute to platform modernization and technical roadmaps
  • Develop capabilities across deal management, portfolio management, analytics, automation, data services, and reporting
  • Support deal sourcing, underwriting workflows, portfolio monitoring, risk analytics, and investment reporting
  • Break down technical deliverables with the Credit Engineering Lead and plan delivery
  • Build cloud-native applications using containerized, microservices-based architectures
  • Develop observability, logging, monitoring, and operational support
  • Support automation, scalability, resiliency, and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and design feedback
  • Promote engineering excellence, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Investment Technology, and business stakeholders

Key requirements

  • 5-8 years of software engineering delivering enterprise applications
  • Experience in large-scale software delivery and complex business environments
  • Agile software development experience
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical and business teams
  • Experience supporting production applications and operations
  • Financial services experience strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting investment management, capital markets, lending, credit, or alternative asset management platforms preferred
  • Experience mentoring developers or providing technical leadership
