Associate Commercial Manager

Overview

As an Associate Cost Consultant, you will lead cost management on rail projects, including HS2, ensuring delivery on cost, time, and quality. You will mentor a team, manage project budgets, and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships. You’ll analyse complex cost data to inform decisions and help evolve cost management systems for rail projects. This role offers impact through improving client outcomes and advancing the firm’s rail sector capabilities. You will work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment to deliver sustainable, high-quality project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop cost management delivery for rail projects
• Create project costings and budgets; manage finances to meet targets
• Oversee cost management assignments to meet client expectations
• Interpret client objectives in rail cost management context
• Monitor team performance and policy compliance in cost control
• Ensure contracts and project delivery parameters align with cost management
• Analyse complex cost data to support decision-making
• Support development of cost and commercial management systems for rail
• Drive innovation in cost management to enhance service quality and team impact
• Build relationships with senior clients and stakeholders for opportunities and satisfaction

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
• Professional qualification or chartered status
• CSCS card holder
• Experience delivering medium/large rail projects across full lifecycle (including HS2)
• Extensive cost and commercial management experience in rail
• Proven leadership and ability to motivate teams in cost roles
