Job Title: QA Engineer – Bridge Bearing Replacement Scheme

Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk

Salary: £350-£385 per day DOE – All-in CIS or LTD

Role Overview:

We are looking for an experienced QA Engineer to join a major bridge bearing replacement scheme in Stowmarket.

The project involves bearing replacement works on a 350m-long viaduct, approximately 8m high, crossing a railway line and two rivers. The viaduct will require temporary propping.

This is a site-based role with a strong focus on QA/QC, inspections, quality documentation and compliance throughout the project.

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience as a QA Engineer within civil engineering/infrastructure
• Strong bridges and structures experience
• Good knowledge of ITPs, inspections, NCRs and quality documentation
• PTS highly desirable due to the railway interface
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
• Own laptop/computer and mobile phone required

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day QA/QC activities on site
• Prepare and manage Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
• Carry out inspections and maintain quality records
• Manage NCRs and quality observations
• Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications and project requirements
• Monitor subcontractor quality
• Support audits and handover documentation
• Work closely with Site and Project Management teams
• Maintain quality standards throughout the project
