Overview
In this role you support analytics, reporting, and quantitative tools that inform portfolio and asset allocation decisions. You work with senior investors across J.P. Morgan Personal Investing and the Private Bank to translate investment views into risk-aware, multi-asset portfolios. You own structured, detail-oriented processes and seek opportunities to automate and simplify them, contributing to a culture of rigor, collaboration, and continuous learning. This is an early-career path with mentorship to grow your technical toolkit and market knowledge.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day investment desk analytics, reporting, and data quality checks
- Maintain and enhance proprietary risk and quantitative investment tools
- Automate repetitive and data-heavy workflows (reporting pipelines, data handling, model inputs/outputs)
- Analyze portfolio exposures and risk metrics to inform decision-making
- Contribute to research and analysis that informs asset allocation and portfolio risk discussions
- Partner with senior team on projects spanning market analysis, modeling, and process improvements
- Document methodologies, processes, and key assumptions to improve transparency and repeatability
- Communicate insights clearly through concise written updates and well-structured outputs
Key requirements
- Strong numerate and analytical foundation in a quantitative discipline
- Demonstrated interest in financial markets and investing
- Practical coding experience in Python and/or MATLAB
- Strong Excel skills with audit-friendly models
- Experience with structured datasets including cleaning, validation, and reconciliation
- High attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to manage recurring deliverables and meet deadlines
- Continuous-improvement mindset with a track record of automation
- Clear written and verbal communication for senior stakeholders
- Willingness to pursue CFA, FRM, or similar qualifications
