Credit Analyst – Placement Year

Overview

In this placement you will assess credit risk for part of the commercial finance portfolio, supporting growth with prudent lending decisions. You will prepare credit reports and recommendations, collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, and monitor risk indicators to safeguard assets. You’ll work with Credit Management to align with policy and governance, contributing to continuous process improvements and regulatory compliance. This role offers hands-on exposure to credit risk in a globally known automotive finance context with a focus on sustainability and responsible lending.

Responsibilities

• Interpret financial data and KPIs to balance risk and reward
• Prepare credit reports with lending recommendations and conditions
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
• Monitor the Early Warning System and mitigate risk as needed
• Understand credit risk, collateral policy, and business strategy to meet targets
• Maintain credit records and limits
• Support the monthly Local Credit Committee reports
• Identify and implement process improvements for credit review and monitoring
• Ensure lending processes comply with regulatory requirements
• Support design and packaging of credit proposals aligned with policies
• Engage with Credit Management to share best practices across markets
• Implement Credit Road Map recommendations to improve governance maturity

Key requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Business Management (2:1 or above) or equivalent
• Basic customer services experience
• Microsoft Office (incl. PowerPoint) advantageous
• Quick to learn IT applications and online tools
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Strong analytical mindset
• Attention to detail and intellectual curiosity
