Overview
In this role you will contribute to the design, build and maintenance of networks for UK programmes, supporting operations and change projects. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to design modern, scalable networks and help identify new technologies to solve problems. You’ll help maintain network services and documentation while staying aware of evolving tech landscapes. This is a hands-on role with opportunities to influence standards and drive improvements in complex environments.

Responsibilities
- Provide Network Engineering skills and produce solution designs within the senior delivery team
- Collaborate with partner delivery teams to design and implement modern, scalable networks using new technologies including automation
- Lead network management and acceptance, setting standards and applying deep technical expertise
- Apply verification and validation to produce Network Designs across multiple domains
- Collaborate with customers on Network management, assurance and integration of services for multiple lines of business
- Identify business opportunities by applying engineering and design best practices
- Communicate effectively across organizational, technical and political boundaries
Key requirements
- Strong knowledge of data centre and campus networking technologies: Cisco routing, switching, firewalls; Palo Alto Next Gen firewalls; F5 load balancing; encryption
- Strong understanding of routing protocols (static and dynamic) in data centre, campus and WAN
- Experience with L2/3 networking and routing
- Experience with operating high-availability data centre networks supporting critical workloads on Windows, Linux and SAN; technical refresh of many devices
- Experience with monitoring/management tooling including SolarWinds, FMC, Panorama
- General knowledge of Windows Server Environments (OS build, AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO) and Linux (RHEL) data centre server infrastructures
- Excellent analysis, problem solving and ownership of complex incidents; strong written and verbal communication skills
- Clearance to Start BPSS; willing to undergo SC or DV clearance depending on role requirements
