Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

In this hands-on role, you will drive mechanical design and product development for new and customer-specific solutions in an established engineering manufacturer. You will take concepts through feasibility, prototyping, testing and validation, delivering robust, manufacturable designs. You will collaborate with manufacturing, quality and engineering teams to maintain clear technical documentation and support change control. This position emphasizes practical problem-solving and delivery over leadership. You will impact product performance and reliability through hands-on engineering leadership.

Responsibilities

• Develop mechanical designs for new products and customer-specific solutions
• Produce and develop designs, engineering calculations, specifications and technical drawings
• Take concepts through feasibility, prototyping, testing and product validation
• Investigate technical problems and improve existing products and designs
• Work closely with manufacturing, quality and other engineering colleagues to deliver practical, robust solutions
• Maintain clear technical documentation and support engineering change control

Key requirements

• Strong mechanical design and product-development experience
• Technical depth to own detailed engineering work
• Experience in an engineering manufacturing environment with understanding of build, test and improvement
• Mechanical engineering, product-design or related qualification (useful)
• Hands-on capability, technical problem-solving and delivery focus
