Teach the subject you love. Inspire young people. Enjoy the benefits of a vibrant and inclusive sixth form college.
St Brendan’s Sixth Form College is seeking a passionate Teacher of IT and digital skills to join our thriving department, with the opportunity to collaborate with and contribute to Computer Science as part of a supportive department. There is the opportunity to develop into teaching Computer Science at KS5, with full support, shared planning and subject-specific CPD.
Whether you are an experienced teacher, an Early Career Teacher, or a digital professional considering a move into education, this is an opportunity to teach post16 students in a highly supportive environment where your focus can remain on excellent teaching and learning. Your enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and commitment to working as part of a team are more important than prior experience across the full computing curriculum.
Why choose St Brendan’s?
Unlike many school-based roles, this position allows you to focus on your specialist subject and work with students who have chosen to study IT or Computer Science.
Benefits of the role include:
- Teaching only post 16 students
- Dedicated pastoral and progress tutor teams
- Timetabled student support and enrichment rather than after hours
- Collaborative planning and shared resources
- Strong departmental support and mentoring
- Flexible working opportunities, including job-share arrangements
What you’ll teach
You will contribute to our successful and growing digital curriculum, including:
- Teaching AAQ IT: Data Analytics at Level 3 as the subject develops
- Developing and delivering the new Level 2 and Level 3 V Level in Digital Systems and Data for September 2027
- Contributing to A Level Computer Science over time
- A curriculum emphasis on:
- Preparing students for a digital world and the career pathways this can lead to
- Developing practical, real‑world digital skills
- Contribution to enrichment opportunities where appropriate including our Cyber EPQ
Ofsted says ‘Students behave well in lessons and when using communal areas because leaders and managers set high expectations that are upheld by staff.‘
You will have the opportunity to teach and shape the futures of students aiming for a range of destinations including:
- Russell Group and Oxbridge universities
- Competitive Computer Science, Cyber Security and Digital degree programmes
- Degree apprenticeships and higher-level technical careers
- Those learning digital skills to support other career paths
Many of our students aspire to careers in software development, cyber security, artificial intelligence and data science, making this an exciting and rewarding subject area to teach.

We are committed to helping colleagues thrive.
Applications are welcomed from:
