Global Commodities – Refined Products Oil Trader – Vice President or Executive Director

Overview

In this role you drive value by leveraging client and broker flows to optimize risk and revenue in oil trading. You will contribute to oil fundamental analytics and market strategies within a global trading team, shaping hedging ideas and capitalizing on market moves. You collaborate with sales to engage clients and develop actionable trading concepts, while maintaining strong risk controls. This position offers impact at scale in a high-stakes, data-informed trading environment.

Responsibilities

• Risk-taking around client and broker market flows to drive performance
• Accurately price client transactions and hedge to maximize franchise revenue
• Collaborate with sales to provide market color and hedging strategies
• Develop trading ideas informed by fundamental and technical analysis
• Risk-manage trading books including non-linear risk
• Perform daily desk functions: mark forward curves, provide market commentary, hedge secondary trading book exposure (FX/IR)

Key requirements

• Disciplined track record in commodities risk-taking
• Bachelor in Finance, Economics, or Mathematics
• Strong understanding of oil fundamentals and market drivers
• Ability to assess and manage risk across positions and events
• Client-focused mindset under competitive conditions
• Experience operating in a dynamic, collaborative trading environment
• Strong controls mindset with robust risk and conduct standards
• Programming ability in Python, SQL, or equivalent
