A well-established and Legal 500-recognised law firm is looking to appoint an experienced Corporate Solicitor to join its growing team in London.
The firm has enjoyed sustained growth across the business and is looking for a solicitor with ideally 5+ years’ post-qualification experience who has developed their career within a private-practice corporate team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious corporate lawyer looking to take on significant client responsibility, work on a varied caseload and play an active role in the continued development of a successful corporate practice.
The Role
You will advise a broad range of clients, including SMEs, owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurs, on a variety of corporate matters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing corporate transactions from initial instruction through to completion
- Advising on mergers and acquisitions
- Shareholder arrangements and agreements
- Corporate restructurings and reorganisations
- General company law and corporate advisory matters
- Advising businesses and shareholders on strategic corporate issues
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating transaction documentation
- Working closely with clients to understand their commercial objectives and deliver practical solutions
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm and identifying opportunities for cross-referrals
- Developing and maintaining long-term client relationships
Given the firm’s strong real estate client base, experience advising on corporate matters in a real estate context would be particularly advantageous.
Experience in banking and finance would also be beneficial, although this is not essential.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- Qualification as a Solicitor in England & Wales
- Ideally 5+ years’ PQE in corporate law
- Strong experience gained within a private-practice corporate team
- A proven track record advising SMEs, owner-managed businesses and entrepreneurs
- Experience across a broad range of corporate transactions and advisory work
- The ability to manage transactions independently from instruction through to completion
- Strong drafting, negotiation and analytical skills
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to problem-solving
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
- A genuine interest in developing client relationships and contributing to business development
- Experience of networking and generating new business
Experience supervising, mentoring or supporting junior lawyers and trainees would be advantageous but is not essential.
