Overview

In this role you will lead instrumentation engineering for brownfield Oil & Gas projects in the North Sea, supporting a dynamic modifications portfolio. You will guide a team of engineers across FEED to Detailed Design, ensuring technical excellence, budgeting, and planning. You’ll work closely with clients and global delivery centers to deliver safe, compliant solutions that raise asset performance. This is a chance to shape modifications and upgrades for complex, safety-critical environments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instrument engineering liderazgo to the project team
  • Lead junior engineers and Global Execution Centre staff
  • Manage budgets and planning for scopes
  • Interpret client standards and input to package specifications
  • Contribute to SIL assessments and safety reviews (HAZOP/HAZID)
  • Define and approve technical scopes and ensure design in line with codes and standards
  • Coordinate with remote teams and ensure discipline delivery
  • Support Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems
  • Identify scope and schedule changes via Change Control
  • Provide discipline guidance and mentor team members

Key requirements

  • MSc in Engineering or equivalent (or BSc/BEng with extensive Brownfield Oil & Gas experience)
  • Chartered Engineer or equivalent preferred but not essential
  • Experience in brownfield oil & gas modifications
  • Ability to interpret client standards and develop package specifications
  • Proficiency with specialist software packages and industrial automation knowledge
  • Knowledge of international codes, client standards, plant PCS, automation and industrial communications
  • Functional safety awareness; experience with HAZOP/HAZID and SIL
  • Ability to define/approve technical scopes and manage project delivery
  • Experience leading teams and coordinating with global delivery centres
  • Strong planning, budgeting, and cost-control skills
  • Collaborative team leadership
