Are you an experienced Environmental Protection Officer looking for a flexible part-time contract?
We’re working with a local authority in Staffordshire that is looking to strengthen its Environmental Protection team with an experienced officer. The role will have a particular focus on contaminated land, planning consultations and statutory nuisance, alongside wider Environmental Protection duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and responding to planning applications and consultations
- Providing technical advice relating to contaminated land
- Assessing land contamination reports, investigations and remediation proposals
- Investigating statutory nuisance and wider environmental protection complaints
- Providing professional advice to colleagues, developers and other stakeholders
- Supporting the wider Environmental Protection team where required
WhatWe’re Looking For:
- Previous Environmental Protection experience, ideally within a local authority
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of contaminated land
- Confidence handling planning consultations and responses
- Experience investigating statutory nuisance
- Ability to manage a caseload independently and hit the ground running
