Overview
You will lead and support a varied planning caseload within a top regional firm, focusing on large-scale development and energy projects. In this role, you collaborate with partners across offices and manage matters across the development lifecycle for national and regional clients. You will shape strategy on planning policy, complex infrastructure, and planning obligations, while nurturing client relationships. Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of high-quality planning matters
- Work on large-scale strategic development and nationally significant energy and infrastructure projects
- Handle planning obligations and Community Infrastructure Levy
- Address lawful development certificates and highways matters
- Support property teams on acquisitions and disposals
- Manage contentious planning matters including enforcement, CPO, judicial reviews, statutory challenges and appeals
- Collaborate with partners across offices and run your own matters
- Support clients throughout the development lifecycle for housebuilders, land promoters, and local authorities
Key requirements
- At least 5 years’ PQE in planning law
- Strong technical skills in residential development and/or energy matters
- Excellent communication, organisation and drafting abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines
- Meticulous attention to detail and thorough approach
- Proven ability to build strong client relationships
- Genuine interest in planning policy and sector developments
