Overview
Join a fast-growing PIC team within a national law firm to handle non-contentious and contentious construction work. You’ll support energy, infrastructure and real estate projects, advise on post-contract issues, and represent clients in adjudication, arbitration and TCC proceedings. The role offers rapid progression and cross-office collaboration across UK offices. You’ll help drive business development while deepening construction law expertise in a dynamic, values-led firm.

Responsibilities
- Work for high-calibre clients on non-contentious and contentious complex contractual issues with Partner support
- Advise on energy, infrastructure, highways, research facility, housing and student accommodation projects
- Involvement in advising clients at all stages of the post-contract process
- Represent clients in adjudication, arbitration and Technology and Construction Court proceedings
- Assist with advising clients on insolvency issues related to construction projects
- Build relationships with new and existing clients
- Develop construction law knowledge and skills
- Delegate to Associates, Trainees and Paralegals
- Support Partners on tenders
- Participate in business development to strengthen the team and firm client base
- Contribute to team strategic planning and business development activities
Key requirements
- Qualified Solicitor (SRA or Law Society Registered or equivalent)
- 1-5 PQE with construction experience in a reputable Projects/Construction team
- Experience with NEC, JCT and FIDIC forms
- Experience in complex construction matters including delay, disruption, defects, building/fire safety, and payment claims
- Analytical, communicative and well-organised with strong workload management
- Commercially aware with appetite for business development and up-to-date with sector developments
- Able to understand client business needs and act in the firm’s and client’s best interests
- Ambitious team player able to support senior fee earners and uphold collaborative culture
