Overview

In this role you will lead heritage and restoration projects from pre-construction to handover, guiding delivery to time, budget and quality targets. You will work closely with the Construction Director and cross-functional teams to drive project outcomes. The position offers exposure to prestigious heritage schemes and the chance to shape restoration efforts within a specialist contractor environment. This is a hands-on leadership role with a focus on safe delivery, stakeholder management and strategic project planning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from pre-construction through to completion and handover.
  • Manage project programmes, budgets and resource allocation.
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement and supply chain management.
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely and in accordance with company standards.
  • Monitor commercial performance, forecasting and cost control.
  • Coordinate site teams and provide leadership across project delivery functions.
  • Produce progress reports and project updates for senior management.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Support the Construction Director with operational planning and project strategy.

Key requirements

  • Experience as a senior Project Manager or Contracts Manager in construction/heritage refurbishments.
  • Delivery of projects up to 10 million.
  • Exposure to heritage, conservation, education, healthcare, commercial, residential or social housing sectors.
  • Strong commercial awareness including procurement, budgeting and forecasting.
  • Proven ability to manage pre-construction through to handover.
  • Ability to lead site and multidisciplinary teams and manage stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience delivering listed building refurbishment/restoration and maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making
