Principal Global SLC Pre-Sales Consultant – Healthcare and Life Sciences

Overview

In this PreSales role, you will support account executives across the sales cycle to articulate the value of SLC for SAS language workloads. You’ll guide technical discovery, craft proofs-of-concept, and demonstrate how SLC integrates with SAS, Python, R, and SQL in pharmaceutical contexts. You’ll partner with product teams to ensure the roadmap reflects customer needs and run industry-focused demonstrations and workshops. This is a hands-on advisory position that blends technical depth with executive-level storytelling to drive modernization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead customer conversations to gather high-level business and technical requirements
• Conduct technical discovery sessions and evaluate porting SAS code to SLC
• Review IT infrastructure and provide architectural guidance for SLC deployments
• Assist customers in porting SAS code to SLC
• Plan and execute pilots/POCs evaluating SAS portability, performance, and modernization
• Provide SAS and statistical programming expertise in the pharmaceutical industry
• Create and present pharma-focused demonstrations
• Onboard and support partners in presenting SLC to the industry
• Author pharma industry papers and presentations for webinars/conferences
• Participate in pharma industry projects related to statistical programming
• Lead workshops showcasing SLC
• Contribute to RFI/RFP responses
• Own technical relationship throughout the sales cycle
• Provide customer insights to the product roadmap for pharma needs
• Collaborate with product teams across sales, product, and engineering to remove blockers

Key requirements

• Minimum 5 years of SAS programming experience
• Deep understanding of statistical programming in the pharmaceutical industry
• Strong communication skills to explain complex problems simply
• Ability to influence executives and guide enterprise-scale technology adoption
• Full professional proficiency in English
• Experience leading and conducting workshops
• Practical experience in customer-facing technical roles (PreSales, Solutions Consulting, etc.)
• Ability to explain SAS behavior, migration patterns, and performance implications to technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience designing and running proofs-of-concept/technical evaluations with clear success criteria
• Confident presentation skills for demos, workshops, and architecture discussions
• Ability to work across sales, product, and engineering to influence solution direction and remove blockers
