Design Engineer – Renewable Energy / Building ServicesSunderland

Pertemps are actively recruiting for a Design Engineer to join an innovative and growing business.

We’re looking for an experienced, technically minded engineer with a background in Building Services, M&E, Renewable Energy or Construction Engineering.

The role will focus on the design and delivery of underfloor heating (UFH) systems, supporting projects from initial design and feasibility through to installation, commissioning and handover.

Key ResponsibilitiesDesign UFH systems, layouts, schematics and technical calculations.Specify manifolds, controls, pipework and associated heating components.Support the integration of heat pumps, district heating, communal heating and commercial plant rooms.Ensure designs meet relevant Building Regulations, British Standards and industry requirements.Review technical drawings, specifications and design submissions.Work closely with clients, contractors, consultants, suppliers and internal teams.Provide technical support throughout installation and commissioning.Resolve design and engineering issues and support project handover.Assist with technical evaluations, procurement and project documentation.About You:Experience in M&E, Building Services, Construction or Renewable Energy.Strong engineering design and technical knowledge.Experience interpreting technical drawings and specifications.Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.Strong organisation and problem-solving abilities.A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple projects.Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.Desirable experience includes:Heat pumps, district heating or communal heating systems.Commercial plant rooms or renewable energy projects.Main Contractor or Building Services experience.CAD or engineering design software.Degree/HNC/HND in Engineering, Building Services, Construction or a related discipline.The RoleMonday – Friday | Hybrid working availableThe role will involve regular travel to project sites and other company locations.
