The role will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely management accounts and financial analysis for a recently acquired entity.
Alongside the core management accounting activities, the role will play a key part in developing financial forecasts and budgets, improving finance processes and providing business partnering support.
Joining at an exciting time in the growth of the business, there will be opportunities to be involved in the integration of future acquisitions, system transformation and process improvement initiatives. This will require a proactive individual who is comfortable operating in a changing and fast paced environment with an enthusiasm for improving ways of working. Occasional UK travel required.
Key ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for someone to:Financial Reporting & Month-End ClosePrepare accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reportingLead month-end close activities for designated business areasPerform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial recordsAnalyse monthly financial performance against budget and forecast, and provide detailed commentary and insights into key variances and business drivers
Budget & Forecasting Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting cyclesMonitor financial performance against targets and proactively identify risks and opportunities
Business Partnering & Commercial SupportPartner with operational and commercial stakeholders to provide financial insight and challengeTranslate financial information into meaningful recommendations for non-finance audiences whilst driving financial accountability across the organisationDeliver ad hoc analysis and reporting to support business performanceMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trendsProvide profitability analysis and cost management insightsSupport working capital and cash flow optimisation initiatives
Financial Control & GovernanceEnsure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies and relevant financial regulationsSupport internal and external audit activitiesIdentify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting qualityContribute to finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives
Experience and QualificationsFully qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA)Proven post-qualification experience, ideally in a commercial finance or group finance roleStrong management accounting and financial reporting experienceIntermediate / advanced Excel, Power Point and WordExcellent understanding and working knowledge of accounting and reporting systems, applicable legislation and the statutory and regulatory frameworkExcellent analytical and problem-solving capabilitiesExperience preparing budgets, forecasts and variance analysisHigh attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and deadlinesResults-driven with a continuous improvement mindsetAble to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
