Overview
In this role, you provide legal support to Sony Pictures Entertainment’s London teams, focusing on supplier, procurement and services agreements as well as Formats-related licensing and brand activities. You will advise on AI use case requests and help implement related conditions, coordinating with global stakeholders across London, EMEA and beyond. You’ll balance cross-functional partnerships with rigorous contract work to enable business objectives in a fast-paced, international setting. This is a high-impact, business-facing legal role at the heart of media operations and brand initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating supplier, procurement and services agreements (e.g., post-production, technical mastering, distribution and localization)
- Negotiating licensing and exploitation agreements for the Formats business (live events, branded locations, web-based games, clip licenses)
- Advising on and reviewing AI use case requests and implementing AI use case conditions
- Coordinating with Sourcing, Distribution & Content Services, Formats, Sales and Marketing teams to resolve business challenges
- Maintaining and updating precedent agreements and process documents for the Legal Affairs team
- Conducting legal research and advising on legal aspects of business activities
- Liaising with internal Legal Affairs teams and cross-border partners in London, EMEA, LA and other offices
Key requirements
- Solid understanding of contract and licensing law
- Strong commercial contracts experience, especially procurement, sourcing and supplier/services agreements
- Self-starter with commercial, proactive and independent working style
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new law and industry practices
- Excellent legal analysis, drafting and negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to engage stakeholders across multiple territories
- Fluent English (additional languages a plus)
- Qualified lawyer (solicitor or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience
- Experience in or with large international media/entertainment or relevant commercial setting is helpful but not required
