Overview
In this role you will provide strategic regulatory and commercial legal guidance for Farfetch’s global operations. You will partner with the broader legal and business teams to navigate payments and digital regulations, ensuring compliant commercial models and proactive risk management. You will monitor regulatory developments, engage with regulators, and translate complex rules into practical actions. This position offers impact across international markets and a chance to shape regulatory strategy in a fast-moving luxury e-commerce environment.

Responsibilities
- Advise on payment regulation and related regulatory frameworks, including digital regulation, product compliance and consumer protection
- Monitor and implement new regulatory requirements for the Farfetch Group with focus on payments
- Identify regulatory risks and enforcement trends and mitigate them proactively
- Develop and engage with regulators on strategic regulatory issues
- Advise on commercial matters and ensure compliant payment models in contracts with partners and processors
- Provide legal input on tariffs-related matters
- Negotiate, draft and review contracts, policies, and other legal documents
- Offer proactive, strategic, and pragmatic legal advice
- Liaise with external law firms when needed
- Support Group Legal VP, Regulatory Legal Team and business to ensure compliant operations
- Utilize legal technology and AI tools ethically to improve efficiency and adoption by the team
Key requirements
- A qualified lawyer with at least 4 years’ PQE
- Experience advising on payments regulation and commercial matters
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to quickly absorb information and apply it to assessments
- Ability to translate complexities into commercial, pragmatic advice for a global business
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and proactive, organized approach
- Capability to work autonomously and in teams, supervising junior counsel and supporting leadership
- Excellent communication, drafting, and organizational skills
- Commercial acumen and a forward-thinking, agile mindset
- Prior in-house experience would be beneficial
