No.1 Site Manager (Main Contractor) | Permanent | Berkshire

Overview

In this role you will lead on-site delivery as No.1 Site Manager for education-focused projects within a large international civil engineering and building company. You will manage new builds, refurbishments and extensions from 2m to 20m, ensuring quality, safety and timely completion. The role sits within a regional structure with local teams and requires daily Berkshire-based work. You will leverage your main contracting background and SMSTS/CSCS/First Aid to coordinate subcontractors and resources. This opportunity offers exposure to a pipeline of education projects and a chance to contribute to high-profile works.

Responsibilities

• Lead as No.1 on construction sites with responsibility for delivery and site management
• Oversee education projects including new build, refurbishment and extensions (2m–20m)
• Coordinate subcontractors, labour and plant resources to meet programme
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance across projects
• Maintain effective communication with regional offices and clients

Key requirements

• Proven experience as No.1 Site Manager on projects up to 20m
• Education project experience (new build, refurbishment, extensions)
• Main Contracting background
• SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid
• Able to commute to Berkshire on a daily basis
