Drenagh Sawmills, established in 1971 is a family owned business located in Limavady. The Company produces an innovative range of bespoke timber products for use in the fencing, landscaping, pallet & packaging markets in the UK and Ireland.
We are seeking applications for the post of:
YARD / PRODUCTION OPERATIVE
This is a dual-role position, with duties undertaken in either the yard or production areas depending on the Company’s operational requirements.
Responsibilities will include:
- General yard duties, including handling, stacking and organising timber products.
- Preparing customer orders, serving customers and loading/unloading vehicles.
- Forklift operation and assisting with the operation of the timber treatment plant.
- Operation and set up of sawmill machinery.
- Assisting in routine machine maintenance and record keeping.
Essential criteria:
- Previous experience working in a yard environment.
- Forklift operating experience.
- Ability to work on own initiative, be flexible, hardworking, conscientious and reliable.
- Good health and safety awareness.
- Willingness to undertake duties in either yard or production operations as required.
Desirable criteria:
- Experience in loading and unloading vehicles, preparing customer orders and dealing with customers.
- Previous experience of working in a manufacturing or woodworking environment, basic knowledge of timber products.
- Basic mechanical or electrical knowledge or experience would be advantageous.
