Staff Product Designer

Overview

As Staff Product Designer at Carwow, you will shape high-impact experiences across our marketplace, partnering with product and engineering leadership. You will own end-to-end design for major problem spaces, from discovery to shipped outcomes, and raise design craft across the team. The role emphasizes AI-native workflows, rapid prototyping with Claude Design, and mentorship to elevate the design culture. You’ll help define how design integrates with data, user research, and experimentation to move core metrics.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design for major marketplace problem spaces (buying, selling, dealer-facing products) from discovery to launch and iteration
• Prototype rapidly using AI design tools (Claude Design or equivalent); deliver testable experiences to users and stakeholders
• Collaborate closely with engineers using AI-assisted workflows to accelerate shipping and sometimes engage in hands-on coding
• Set direction by identifying opportunities, building a data-backed case, and aligning product/engineering partners
• Raise design craft across the team through critique, mentorship, and serving as a design example
• Champion AI-native ways of working; share techniques, reusable prompts, and workflows with the wider team
• Ground decisions in evidence by combining user research, data, and rapid experimentation

Key requirements

• 7+ years of product design experience in consumer or marketplace products
• Strong AI fluency with hands-on Claude Design (or equivalent) used as a core workflow
• End-to-end craft: ability to translate fuzzy problems into production-ready designs
• Comfort with ambiguity and fast decision-making
• Excellent communication and influence to align senior stakeholders
• Experience mentoring designers and elevating team standards
