Overview

In this role you will deliver planned maintenance, reactive and remedial work on mechanical systems across client sites, ensuring safety, reliability and efficiency. Responsibilities

  • Perform PPM, reactive and remedial work using electronic maintenance systems and handheld devices
  • Maintain, repair and service mechanical equipment for optimal performance and reliability
  • Diagnose faults, resolve issues and implement effective solutions
  • Provide technical input to projects, upgrades and continuous improvement
  • Liaise with contractors, suppliers and stakeholders to ensure safe, efficient work
  • Maintain digital maintenance records, reports and documentation
  • Undertake survey inspections and maintenance in confined spaces and at height where required
  • Support winter maintenance activities (gritting and snow clearance)
  • Act as Competent Person when required
  • Promote sustainability and environmental initiatives across the contract
  • Support business continuity plans and operational resilience

Key requirements

  • Strong mechanical maintenance experience in facilities management, engineering or building services
  • High standard of workmanship and customer service
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and meet response targets
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills
  • Strong commitment to health, safety, and compliance
  • Effective communication with colleagues, clients, contractors and stakeholders
  • Comfort with mobile technology, handheld devices and digital maintenance systems
  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (or equivalent)
  • NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance (multi-discipline) or equivalent
  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience installing, maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment
  • Knowledge of PPM and reactive maintenance activities
  • Experience in facilities management, commercial or industrial environments
  • Understanding of health, safety and statutory compliance requirements
