Teaching Administrative Assistant

Location: Glasgow

Rate: £15.40 per hour

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: December 2026

Hours: Full-time

About the Role:

We are looking for an organised and proactive Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to my Higher Education client based in Glasgow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for undergraduate students, providing advice and guidance, using own judgement to resolve any issues or escalation where required.
  • Provide administrative support to the undergraduate programme staff and students, working with minimum supervision, to ensure the smooth running of the undergraduate programme
  • Liaise with guest lecturers, External Examiners and students involved in Degree programme.
  • Co-ordinate assessment related activities for the programme, including liaising with External Examiners
  • Preparing examination papers, and assisting with the preparation of exam board paperwork
  • Co-ordinate assessment related activities for the programme, including liaising with External Examiners, preparing examination papers.
  • Administrative lead responsible for maintaining the relevant aspects of the School website, ensuring visibility of all programmes, courses and scholarships.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have previous administrative experience and be confident working in a busy environment where accuracy, organisation and communication are essential.

You will ideally have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workloads and work to deadlines.
  • A proactive approach, with the ability to use initiative and work independently.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a wider team.
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office.
  • Experience handling large volumes of administrative data, records and information.
  • Experience handling confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
