Overview

In this role you ensure fire safety compliance and risk management within a high-profile hospitality environment. You will work with the Health, Safety & Wellbeing team to strengthen fire safety culture and maintain an effective safety management system. You’ll support risk assessment programmes, compliance monitoring, and provide clear reporting to stakeholders. This is a chance to influence safety strategy in a complex, high-risk venue while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide competent fire safety advice to support compliance with legal requirements and internal policies/standards
  • Partner with Heads of Department and technical teams to identify, assess and manage fire risks, including coaching on risk controls and record-keeping
  • Support development and review of fire safety standards, guidance and risk assessments, and help keep internal fire safety content up to date
  • Track and support delivery of the programme of fire risk assessments, including action tracking and close-out
  • Assist with compliance monitoring, inspections and incident investigations, plus reporting on fire safety performance and trends
  • Attend relevant H&S / project planning meetings, preparing reports, presentations and recommendations as needed

Key requirements

  • Level 4 Certificate in Fire Safety (or equivalent)
  • Experience in fire safety management within a large, complex organisation (ideally arts/entertainment/hospitality venues)
  • Strong working knowledge of current fire safety legislation and standards, with the ability to apply these pragmatically
  • Confident producing reports, plans, policies and procedures, and communicating technical issues clearly to varied audiences
  • Understanding of the Building Safety Act requirements (especially as they apply to higher-risk/high-rise buildings)
