Overview

In this Production Engineer role you drive technical problem solving and continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. You’ll support operations, quality, supply chain and process engineering to resolve production issues, improve efficiency, and enable business growth. The position focuses on delivering robust manufacturing improvements, waste reduction, and safe, capable processes. You’ll work hands-on with cross-functional teams to implement NPI readiness, process trials and capital projects, shaping manufacturing performance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for manufacturing production at TSS Tewkesbury
  • Assist Operations and Production Support Technicians with day-to-day issues
  • Attend daily operational reviews and drive engineering actions to completion
  • Support metrics: quality, scrap reduction, on-time delivery, productivity
  • Investigate production issues and implement corrective/preventive actions
  • Coordinate responses to quality deviations and customer returns with cross-functional teams
  • Support rework, process trials and manufacturing improvements
  • Lead manufacturing improvement projects from concept to implementation
  • Apply Six Sigma and data-driven methods for efficiency and profitability
  • Review processes, equipment capability, and layouts for improvements
  • Drive change management to sustain improvements
  • Support New Product Introduction to ensure manufacturability and feasibility
  • Participate in production trials, evaluations, and validations
  • Contribute to technical quotations and proposals
  • Manage engineering and improvement projects within budgets and timelines
  • Propose new equipment, tooling, and methods to enhance capability
  • Support capital expenditure project delivery and equipment reliability
  • Assist in technical documentation, SOPs, work instructions, visuals, and training materials
  • Ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and health & safety requirements
  • Promote safe working practices and continuous improvement across manufacturing

Key requirements

  • HND in Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 3 years in manufacturing or production engineering
  • Experience with process improvement and manufacturing controls
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
