Laing O’Rourke is looking for a Structural Product Development Engineer to join our team in Dartford, supporting the development of innovative structural solutions for the Sizewell C project.
This is a unique opportunity to be involved in one of the UK’s largest and most complex construction programmes, helping to develop, improve and deliver engineered products and structural solutions that will play a key role in the future of nuclear infrastructure.
Working within a collaborative engineering environment, you’ll contribute to the development, testing and optimisation of structural products, ensuring designs are practical, efficient and deliverable.

What will the role involve?
- Supporting the development of structural products and engineered solutions for major infrastructure projects
- Producing and reviewing engineering calculations, technical reports and design documentation
- Working closely with design, manufacturing and delivery teams to develop practical and efficient solutions
- Supporting product testing, validation and continuous improvement activities
- Identifying opportunities to improve product performance, quality and constructability
- Collaborating with stakeholders across engineering, manufacturing and project delivery functions
- Supporting innovation and modern methods of construction initiatives
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, specifications and project requirements
- Contributing to technical problem-solving throughout the product lifecycle
What are we looking for?
- Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles
- Experience producing engineering calculations and technical documentation
- A problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- An interest in innovation, product development and modern construction methods
- Experience within construction, manufacturing, infrastructure or engineering environments would be advantageous
