Overview

In this role you will support Houlihan Lokey’s Corporate Finance Business Services team in London by building and analyzing financial models, conducting due diligence, and supporting client-facing materials. You will engage with senior professionals on M&A, financing, and valuation work, helping to move engagements forward in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will develop technical skills and contribute to client deliverables while gaining exposure to cross-functional deal teams. This is a chance to shape advisory outcomes at a leading global bank, across multiple deal types and client segments.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze and explain historical and projected financial information
  • Create financial models
  • Coordinate and perform business due diligence
  • Prepare confidential information memoranda, management presentations, marketing pitches and other presentations
  • Conduct research on sectors, companies and potential buyers
  • Value companies and businesses
  • Build relationships and maintain contact with clients and prospective clients
  • Assist in planning of engagements

Key requirements

  • Strong Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of full-time investment banking experience in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) – preferably Analyst 2 level
  • Demonstrable experience in executing sell-side transactions
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills
  • Strong analytical abilities and knowledge of accounting and applied financial theory
  • Excellent understanding of financial statements analysis with the ability to work through key assumptions, implicit caveats, and limitations
  • Excellent understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies, and applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with team members
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects and hit deadlines in a highly organised manner
