Overview

As a Software Engineer in Microsoft’s Frontier Company, you will design and operate production-grade systems that turn ideas into scalable, data-driven solutions. You will embed within customer teams to deliver outcomes quickly, collaborating with cross-functional partners across engineering, data science, product, design, and security. You’ll apply AI and modern software practices to ship secure, reliable services that meet performance and maintainability goals. Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, and operate production-grade software and services that are secure, reliable, and scalable
• Partner with customers and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements and translate business needs into technical designs
• Drive engineering best practices including code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and documentation
• Apply a security-first mindset and follow Microsoft security and compliance requirements
• Deliver customer outcomes end-to-end: prototype quickly, iterate with feedback, and land high-quality solutions
• Build reusable components, reference implementations, and patterns for cross-team use
• Learn and adapt in a fast-moving environment with data-guided decisions
• Collaborate across disciplines and contribute to an inclusive team culture
• Lead technical workstreams by aligning stakeholders and driving delivery through to completion

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND coding experience in C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python (or equivalent)
• Experience partnering with customers or internal stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions
