Civil Design Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead design management for a major London residential development, guiding structural and civils design through Stage 3 and beyond. You will coordinate consultants and interfaces across RC framing, foundations, infrastructure, and external works to ensure integrated delivery. You’ll work closely with architectural, MEP, and wider technical teams to resolve design issues on a large-scale project. This is an early-stage opportunity to shape the scheme and influence delivery outcomes with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural and/or civils design consultants
• Coordinate design information through Stage 3 and beyond
• Work across RC frame, foundations, infrastructure, drainage, roads and external works
• Manage interfaces between buildings and site infrastructure
• Support Gateway applications and technical approvals
• Collaborate with architectural, MEP and wider technical teams
• Identify design issues and drive resolution
• Ensure design information is coordinated and delivered to programme

Key requirements

• Strong design management experience
• Ability to coordinate complex interfaces on large-scale developments
• Background in structural or civils/infrastructure design
• Experience across RC frame, foundations, infrastructure, drainage, roads and external works (depending on background)
• Experience coordinating with multiple consultants and interfaces
• Open to developer, main contractor or consultancy background
• Experience on large-scale residential or mixed-use projects
