Overview

Join Legend as Group Head of Finance to lead a 25+ person, multi-location team and shape the finance operating model post-acquisition. You will balance strategic direction with hands-on problem solving, strengthening controls, standardising processes, and driving automation across Financial Reporting, AP, AR, Treasury and Payroll. You’ll build strong relationships with Legend and Genius Sports leaders, translating complex issues into clear business decisions. This is a chance to scale a finance function in a fast-moving, dynamic group and contribute to a broader transformation agenda.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a 25+ person, multi-location finance team across Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury and Payroll
  • Evolve the finance operating model to scale with business and group requirements, strengthening controls and data flows
  • Redesign and optimise core finance processes and systems, driving standardisation and automation
  • Establish process ownership, SLAs, controls and KPIs, and use data to identify improvements
  • Lead through managers and team leads, staying hands-on for complex issues when needed
  • Navigate post-acquisition integration and align reporting, controls, systems, data, and ways of working across Legend and Genius Sports
  • Prioritise and allocate resources between BAU and transformation initiatives while maintaining critical operations
  • Build senior stakeholder relationships and translate financial issues into actionable business decisions

Key requirements

  • ACA/ICAS/ACCA qualification with significant post-qualified experience in senior finance leadership
  • Experience leading a sizeable, multi-functional finance team across multiple locations and jurisdictions
  • Deep operational knowledge across Financial Reporting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury and Payroll
  • Proven track record transforming and scaling finance functions, with end-to-end process redesign, automation, and improved controls
  • Strong finance systems capability and experience with ERP design or implementation; Workday familiarity advantageous
  • Experience leading teams through significant organisational change, including acquisition integration
  • Hands-on leadership style with strong prioritisation and delegation, balancing BAU and transformation
