About the Role

Health Now Complex Care is looking for experienced and compassionate Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers to join our team supporting a young person in Oxfordshire.

This is an opportunity for a dedicated support worker who has experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs, autism and challenging behaviours.

The role focuses on providing consistent, person-centred support while helping the individual feel safe, supported and understood.

Essential Experience

  • Complex PTSD
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Challenging behaviours
  • Complex mental health needs
  • Emotional distress and dysregulation
  • Experience supporting individuals with behaviours that may present a risk to themselves or others

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, person-centred support
  • Support the individual’s emotional wellbeing and mental health needs
  • Develop positive and trusting professional relationships
  • Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging or distressed behaviour
  • Follow individualised care plans, risk assessments and support strategies
  • Recognise changes in presentation andescalate concerns appropriately
  • Encourage independence, communication and meaningful activities
  • Help maintain a safe, calm and structured environment
  • Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality
  • Complete accurate daily records and handovers
  • Work effectively with the wider care team

  • Able to build positive and trusting relationships
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
  • Passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred support

PMVA experience or training is desirable, although not essential.

Pay

£14.35 – £16.88 per hour
